Advertising Tins are excellent collectibles for the beginning collector. They are available in almost every price range, from a couple of dollars to hundreds! There are tins put out by food/drink manufactures that are used by other types of businesses as advertising items by putting stickers or such on them, making them almost double advertisers!  The newer reproduction tins make wonderful decorator items as well as being collectible. As with all collectibles, old and original is best, but some of the reproduction/decorator tins go a long way in filling out a starting collection

This is a Replica of the 1920's Baby Ruth Advertising Tin.   It has a pix on each side of this pretty little square tin: (1) A man & woman standing on the sea shore enjoying a Baby Ruth candy bar; (2) A Golfer sharing his Baby Ruth with a lovely lady with the caption saying, "Better Than Par - Wise is the golfer who carries a Baby Ruth in his pocket;" (3) Grandpa and his two grandson's fishing on a pier; (4) The history of Baby Ruth which reads: "Otto Schnering began the Curtiss Candy Company from a small rented space on Chicago's North Halsted Street, on December 1, 1916. Just five years later, a candy bar was created which was named after President Grover Cleveland's daughter, "Baby Ruth." Throughout time, the methods used to advertise and promote Baby Ruth candy bars have been considered quite imaginative. Baby Ruth bars were parachuted from planes over major metropolitan areas and carried on the famous Admiral Byrd Expedition to the South Pole. A 26 plane aerial circus and personalities such as Shirley Temple, Guy Lombardo and the Our Gang comedy group have also participated in promotional events. Today, the Baby Ruth bar is made in our plant in Franklin Park, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, and still remains one of America's favorite candy bars."

The Printing On the bottom Of This Tin Reads: "Replicas of 1920's Baby Ruth Advertising." Above this printing, there is a small area that has been rubbed of a bit. It appears to be, perhaps, an old thrift store-type price mark that someone has cleaned off.

This lovely tin is in great condition, no dents, no scratches and measures 5 -3/4" H. x 3 - 3/4" x 4 - 3/4"

Please excuse the glare of the flash as I don't have a 'flash filter' on my camera.
